MOSCOW 2001 - 2006 / SNAPSHOTS / Between 2001 and 2006, I worked as a commercial director with several Russian production companies. During that period, I travelled to Moscow nearly twenty times, mostly in winter. I witnessed the city’s transformation from a post-communist society into a rapidly emerging capitalist market economy.
In my spare time, I wandered aimlessly through this fascinating city, by day and sometimes at night, with a small compact digital camera. What I captured were raw, dark, low-resolution snapshots of Moscow’s city life: fragments of a metropolis in flux, seen in passing moments and imperfect light.
